Membership of a professional body is often essential to many organisations, particularly specialised science, engineering and technology businesses. However there is probably not just one body which is the right one for your business.

The Institution of Engineering and Technology
was formed by the joining together of two great institutions; the IEE (Institution of Electrical Engineers) and the IIE (The Institution of Incorporated Engineers). As well as events, training and networking it offers a wealth of information through the IET Digital Library and the Inspec Direct service: millions of records of high quality, relevant peer-reviewed articles, conference proceedings and technical reports in the fields of Physics, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, IT, Computers and Control, Mechanical and production engineering among others.



The Institute of Physics 
is a leading scientific society promoting physics and bringing physicists together for the benefit of all.It has a worldwide membership of around 40 000 comprising physicists from all sectors, as well as those with an interest in physics. It works to advance physics research, application and education; and engages with policy makers and the public to develop awareness and understanding of physics. Its publishing company, IOP Publishing, is a world leader in professional scientific communications.



The Product Development and Management Association (PDMA)
is the premier global advocate for product development and management professionals. Its mission is to improve the effectiveness of individuals and organizations in product development and management. This is accomplished by providing resources for professional development, information, collaboration and promotion of new product development and management. The development of new products and services involves an integrated set of unique activities. PDMA members span a variety of disciplines (practitioners, service providers, academics and students) and industries - from the most widely admired and accomplished new product companies in the world, from the largest to the smallest, and from services of all kinds. It currently serves over 3500 members with the most up-to-date resources and information on new product development.


 
Durham University Library Access - 
Durham University is one of the top research universities in Europe and has a wealth of information in its libraries and collections. Corporate membership allows up to 3 named employees of each company to have access to the University Library facilities. Please note that items from the Short Loan Collection are not available for borrowing by visitors, and access to online resources can be granted on a day to day basis to visitors to the library.
