An Improved Microgripper for Cell Manipulation

There is a growing need for individual cell manipulation in a wide range of research applications including stem cell sorting, gene and molecular delivery, cellular diagnostics, and single cell-based assays. When compared with data-averaging over a cell population, direct physical cell manipulation offers the researcher much more precise selection and understanding of cell properties.

Description: The ASME Nanotechnology Institute & Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) Nano Training Summer School, is specifically organised to offer a detailed account of advances in fundamentals related to Nanoscience in a wide variety of fields, and prospects for translating these advances into useful Nanotechnologies. The participants will be challenged with open-ended questions and opportunities in engineering nanosystems. Given by experts in academia and industry, the Nano Training Summer School will provide sessions on foundations, energy, transportation, materials & manufacturing, environment and commercialisation.

The Nano Training Summer School concept has been taken from the successful series of ASME Nano Training Bootcamps that have already been held in the United States. ASME in partnership with the IMechE are bringing a modified version of this training program to London, England.
