Some 40 new jobs are being created by a Tees Valley firm dedicated to engineering fire protection systems, which is expanding its-state-of-the art facilities.
Darchem Engineering specialises in engineering solutions for problems involving high temperatures using computer-aided design.
The firm, formed over 50 years ago, also boasts fire testing facilities at the Stockton site.
It has secured £315,000 in Selective Finance for Investment grant funding from One NorthEast to bolster the expansion.
Among the new staff being recruited will be production engineers, customer account managers, craftsmen and production staff.
Commercial manager Andrew Taylor said: "We were delighted to receive the grant support from One NorthEast, which has been a great boost for our business.
"Demand has increased so much in recent months that we needed to increase our resources.
"Investing in new state-of-the-art equipment and expanding the capacity of our existing facilities has given us a competitive edge and created a number of valuable jobs in the region."
