A £1 billion state-of-the-art warship has taken to the seas off the west coast of Scotland.
HMS Daring, the first of six destroyers ordered by the Royal Navy, is on its 33rd day of sea trials in the area.
The constructed in Glasgow and Portsmouth is in the midst of power and propulsion trials.
The Type 45 Anti-Air Warfare Destroyer will provide the backbone of the Royal Navy's air defences and is due to be handed over to the Armed Forces in December this year.
The 7,350-tonne vessel can go from zero to a top speed of 31 knots in just over two minutes.
Builders BAE Systems have also tested the craft's weapons capabilities as part of the second round of trials.
Vic Emery, managing director of BAE Systems surface fleet solutions, said: "Once again Daring has proved that she is a state-of-the-art vessel and a force to be reckoned with. To fully complete this set of trials with 100% success rate is a great achievement, but to do so two days ahead of an already ambitious schedule.
"The power and propulsion trials are now complete and the firing and integration trials have proved to be a resounding success. We remain on course to hand over the ship to the Royal Navy on schedule in December.
