MSc ‘Innovation in Manufacturing’ course which has been developed by three regional Universities with the support of ONE in response to the objective of delivering new initiatives which could improve the region’s innovation and product development skills.

The course is aimed at people of graduate level who are currently employed within business and industry in the North East and who want to progress their professional development while continuing to work. This skills opportunity has been heavily subsidised, and subsequently fees for the entire three year course of study have been reduced to only £5000 per delegate.

The objective of this course is to train and develop engineers and managers with the skill necessary to lead new product development in manufacturing businesses. Sponsored delegates will be people currently in employment in the North East who are graduate level Engineers and Scientists, or people who have equivalent professional in the manufacturing industry. The programme of the study is delivered by a consortium of North East Universities.

Design and Innovation are central to the future economic strategy North East. Following extensive consultation with industry, One North East working with Newcastle University, in partnership with the other regional universities, has developed a new programme specifically designed to build capacity and capability in design and product innovation with the manufacturing sector.
