Durham University's Physics Department is consistently ranked in the top 5 in The Times university tables
The NETPark Research Institute was the first building opened at NETPark - commissioned by Durham University, it houses two world-class research groups from the University:
The Centre for Advanced Instrumentation creates advanced astronomical instrumentation for major telescopes around the world.
The Semiconductor Crystal Growth and Ceramics Group 'grows' large diameter crystals to develop high energy, colour X-ray imaging. Technology developed from this research is currently being commercialised by Durham Scientific Crystals, based at the NETPark Incubator.
